When should parents let teens make their own decision?

Most parents think that teenagers aren't old enough to think farther. Therefore, they always make decisions for their teenage children. This may effect teenagers' futures because they will become dependent on their parents and they will not be able to make their own decisions correctly. They neither will have their own goals nor ambitions because everything in their lives are made up and decided by their parents. In contrast, parents should be there to help when their children make wrong decisions. Parents should let their teenage children become who they want to be not who the parents envisioned them to be. All in all, parents should support teenagers to make their own decisions for better future.


Yes, because..

Teenagers need to make own mistakes. The best way to learn about mistakes is to make them. Only when making mistakes can we experience the emotions of regret etc and it is these emotions that we learn to avoid, and will avoid by not making the same mistakes. A parent telling their teenager about these mistakes is not as effective. Therefore, parents should allow their teenagers room to make mistakes. It is only by learning from past mistakes that we do not continue to repeat them, so as long as the parent can see that their teenager is taking heed of their mistakes then there is no need for them to step in and interfere.

Teenagers have their own personalities. hey might be very different people to their parents and want to make very different decisions regarding their lifestyle. Just like everyone has a right to be themselves, they have a right to be themselves, even if they are very different to you and you don't approve of their choices. There is a difference between giving someone good advice on a matter where you are concerned about someone and trying to force them to be someone they are not. Added to this is the problem that adults have very different lives, wants and needs, for instance are in different social situations to teenagers and don't fully empathize and adapt their advice to fit the needs of a teenager more.


No, because..

Allowing teenagers to make their own decisions in some instances may be a good thing but when it comes to making mistakes, what is the point? Why let a CHILD (because they're not adults) experience heartache, regret, etc...when it can all be avoided by the parent stepping in and doing their job as a parent and making those types of decisions. I think that as the child grows older and approaches the age to where they are legally considered an adult by law, as their maturity increases so should their ability to handle more responsibility and make their own decisions.

Teenagers are dependent  on their parents, but that is not the only reason they should listen to them or at least, share information with them in making decisions/life-choices. Parents have reared teenagers into what they are and continue to support them financially and emotionally. Teenagers owe their parents the opportunity to mold them into adults. And they also owe their guardians, the knowledge of how their life-long efforts panned out.

I think, the best way to make parents let teens make their own decisions when they are in their right age. If they are responsible enough to do things on their own, not just depending on their parents.

The beauty pageants are exploitive because, it has an achievement in life. Everything begins with your perception. The seeds of beauty is an attitude by which to live and an image to project. Beauty pageants requires self-analysis, goal-setting, commitment, discipline, and perseverance. You must to recognize your strengths and weaknesses, your goo and bad qualities and then decide what can be done about each of them. An essential to beauty pageant is to like yourself, even to love yourself. It is an innate quality, a way of being, a manner of acting. It is also a way of looking. Your speech. diction, grammar and sensitivity in communication reflect your true nature. it is your total image that determines just how beautiful you really are. You must survey your present habits of nutrition and exercise, and use of make-up clothing. From there, you must embark upon a program of personal enhancement and development that brings out the positives and plays down the negatives.

Almost of us have a secret desire to be on stage or to be a star. However to achieve balanced beauty the inner and outer must blend together to be joined by an awareness and curiosity about life, an intelligence, happiness, social grace and by self expression through all bodily movements. Beauty pageants is highlighted not only by personal attractiveness, but by outer behavior, poise, and education.

Beauty pageant is a competition that may focuses on the physical beauty of its contestants, although such contests. Often incorporate personality, talent, and answer to judges questions as judged criteria. The goal of pageants is promoting self-esteem of the contestants. Girls who compete feel a sense of belonging with the other contestants, and the larger pageant community. Contestants gain the ability to speak in public, and a sense of confidence in themselves. Winners of these pageants have said that they feel a sense of accomplishment.

Beauty contest attract significant controversy, particularly for how they present women. Many feminists regard beauty contest for women as "cattle markets, degrading to both viewer and contestant, which enforce society's objectification of women. Critics have particularly objected to swimsuit rounds, in which contestants wear only swimwear are high heeled shoes. Beauty pageants are generally multi-tiered, with local competitions feeding into larger competitions. The worldwide pageants, thus requires hundreds, sometimes thousands, of local competitions. Beauty Queens, or the title holders, are chosen on many criteria. Each individual pageants will provide to prospective delegates its particular methods of competition and scoring. Regardless of the method of competition, break down of scores or frequency of selection, all are defined s entertainment in the form of a beauty pageants. It is up to the individual to determine which is best suited competition or of particular entertainment interest.

Beauty is nothing but the beginning of the terror which we are barely able to endure and are awed because, it serenely disdains to annihilate us. Each single angel is terrifying. Everything has its beauty. but not everyone sees it. Beauty is in the eye of beholder. Beauty is the fit from God.

Education has Change in Meaning

With this growth in national consciousness and national spirit among our people, we witness the corresponding rise of new conception of education!

In the old days, education was a matter of private concern, now it is a public function. The educated Filipino in the first place, should be distinguished not only by his knowledge of the past and of currents events in the world's progress but more especially by his knowledge of his race and his country, and his love of truths and ideals that our people have learned to cherish.

How has Education change?

With different ways of teaching progressing, one can't deny the fact that ones education process is then changed as well. It was not long ago when teachers could decide how to teach their students. Teachers would teach their students the same way they had been taught, or the way they saw best, however today, one would see a difference because there are more guidelines for teachers to follow. Some ideas are restricted and some have to be taught. If one was to ask all math teachers at one middle school, one would hear repeated answers of what they were teaching their students at a particular grade level. Students today have specific things they need to learn and teachers have less of an opportunity to branch out and teach their own way or add to the curriculum something they think may be important to add to a child's education.

Looking at the technology available to some teachers now, one would be surprised how much it changes their way of teaching. It makes teaching more hands on and active, unlike it's been headed towards previously. Education, seen as how and what students are taught, will constantly change every year because of the advances or beliefs of what's right or what's wrong.
